Post exam activity 2009-PE department

Time/date: 3 November, Wednesday, from 8am to 12pm

Tournament systen

1 game last 7 minutes
Preliminary rounds-top teams from each grp will proceed to the finals
Finals-Winner of the final champs the tournament

Tournament scoring
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 point for a loss
In case of a tie in total points, the goal difference of all games played will be used to identify the champion team.

Tournament rules (Handball :D)
5.1 The court boundary at court 1 will follow that of a bball court while court 2 will follow that of a netball court
5.2 Rules of game have been modified to suit standards of participants ;o
5.3 A match is played by 2 teams, each consisting of 7 players.
NOTE: Out of 11 people that registered, 7 players will be on the court at any one time, 1 person will keep track of scores for the game, and the team manager will take attendance. The team manager may also take part in the game.
5.4 The siren/whistle will signal the start of the game. The team that fails to take the court in 1 minute will result in a walk over :ooooo where no points will be awarded. In addition, 3 points will be awarded to the opposing team
5.5 Players are allowed to wear class tee or uniformed playing attire. The 1st names team on the game fixture will start the game
5.6 Nails must be short and trimmed 0_0 No jewellery to be worn on court. PLayers who are found with their watches on will have 1 point deducted from the team. (eh i like my watch alot!!!)
5.7 Players must keep to their defending half before the start of the game. After which they can invade opponent's territory (CHIONG!!!)
5.8 The goal post is 2m tall, rectangular hoop.
5.9 ONce a goal is scored, the opposing team will attack from the goal line.
5.10 No running with the ball allowed, TRAVEL!!! Players are allowed to transport ball by dribbling but NO DOUBLE DRIBBLING is allowed.
5.11 All passes or dribbles must be made within 5 seconds of receiving the ball. (Count: 1 thousand 2 thousand...5 thousand)
5.12 One arm's length to be observed when defending the opponent with ball. No intentional pushing or contact with opponent allowed.
5.13 All play must be kept within court boundary, otherwise a free throw taken from outside the court will be awarded to the opposing team.
5.14 Teams fielding non-registered players will be disqualified from the tournament

Tournament rules (soccer xD)
6.1 2 courts will be mark out in the field with the goal lines running along the length of the field to the track
6.2 Refer to rules 5.2-5.7
6.3 A goal post made of two reserves holding to the 2 ends of a stick. Successful goal is when the ball is kicked pass the goal. Goal post is allowed to travel along the goal line.
6.4 Once goal is scored, opposing team will attack frm goal line
6.5 Ball cannot be handled by any parts of arm or hand when it is in court boundary.

Tournament rules (softball ;D)
7.1 Court 5 will be marked out in the hall while court 6 will be marked out in the outdoor netball court near the track
7.2 Same as 5.2-5.6
7.3 When the fielders are ready, the batter can kick the ball to anywhere within the legal boundary (bounded by 3rd base, home plate and 1st base) and advance to any base in proper order.
7.4 A point is scored when a home run is scored in the same inning
7.5 ONly batting team is allowed to earn points in the same innings
7.6 Fioelding team will become batting team only if they strike out 3 batting team members in the same inning
7.7 The following action will cause a runner/batter to be out of the game
a. a fielder caught the ball kicked by the batter before it lands on the ground
b. more than 1 runner at base
c. runner/batter tag with the ball by fielder
d. in a case where a runner is forced to advance to the next base and a fielder reaches that base first.
7.8 There will be a batter's zone marked out on the playing field. No fielder is allowed in that zone when the batter is batting.
7.9 Fielders must no block direct path between bases
7.10 Same as 5.14

Also, inform either bev or I or someone or anyone if you want to sign up to volunteer for Youth Olympic Games. You can either be working on publicity, cultural things or be a school ambassador. Publicity ppl make up exhibits and displays and stuff; Cultural thingy is when you sset up a cultural booth for singaporeans and foreigners to visit, its more of hands on activities; school ambassador talk to the people i think? And make presentations.

In each of the games (handball, softball, soccer), 1 team manager is needed to take attendance and understand the rules of the game as there are no judges or umpire and only students playing. The team manager needs to ensure everyone is punctual too.

1 person of each game will also have to be the scorer, together with the scorer from the other class, keep a record of the points.
